St. Katharine’s can provide a good venue for small conferences and an excellent venue for training days, workshops and seminars.  We are not a dedicated conference centre and do not pretend to have all the facilities that such a venue can provide.  However, if you are looking for a venue that is very private, reasonably priced and a little bit different we could be the place for you.


What do we offer?

Our Main Hall can seat up to 120 in formal theatre-style rows or 100 informally at circular tables for 10.  For smaller sessions or break-out rooms there are two sitting rooms with comfy sofas and the Blue Sitting Room also has a table which can seat up to 6, then there are two libraries which have tables and chairs and the Inner Library also has sofas.  The Dining Room, as well as being used at mealtimes, is also a common area where people can make themselves hot drinks at any time.  In addition the Entrance Hall provides a good reception area when people arrive and can also be used as a common area.

We can provide a data projector and large screen, a p.a. system, flip-chart boards with charts and pens and display boards.  If you have other requirements please ask and if we can, we will do our best to provide them.  There is free wi-fi throughout the house, but we have to warn you that mobile phone coverage is at best patchy in this area (you may think this an advantage), there is a payphone for guests’ use in the Entrance Hall.


If any of your delegates are coming from further afield we can offer B & B accommodation at a very reasonable rate.  If your event extends over two or three days and we cannot accommodate everyone (we have 21 bedrooms, 36 bedspaces) then we can supply a list of local B&Bs.


How much will it cost?

We do not charge for room hire, prices are charged per head according to the type of meal you choose.  It can be as little as £40 per person for a day which would include a simple lunch and unlimited tea and coffee, we could even go slightly lower if you were prepared to forgo the home-made biscuits with your coffee and the home-made cakes in the afternoon break, but be warned, if any of your delegates have been to St. Katharine’s before they will not be prepared to forgo them!  For a little more you can have a two or three course meal.  Meals are usually provided on a self-service basis, but if you want a more formal meal then that can be arranged.  For longer stays we can quote for residential and day rates for your delegates.
