Advent .. a season of reflection. A season of great anticipation and expectation. A season at the end of another year spent. A season of hope, love, joy and peace.
As we come together for the day, we will touch on these elements of advent and prepare ourselves for the forthcoming celebration of Jesus’ birth.
We will turn our thoughts and eyes to Jesus and consider where our eyes and heart have been throughout this passing year. We will rest, wait and refresh as we enter this time of ADVENTure with Jesus.

Arrival is from 9:30am for a 10:00am start. Lunch is included, along with tea/coffee throughout. The day will end around 4:00pm.

Leader: Reverend Vanessa Appleton
Since being ordained, I have served in the church and as a chaplain in the Police Force, the HM Prison Service and the National Health Service. I understand the importance, need and joy in spending time with God, which has led me to facilitate quiet days to gently guide people into the space and presence of God to receive His rest, refreshment and peace.
I have a very compassionate heart, blessed with the gift of creativity and a passion for connecting with nature which is echoed in the quiet days that I lead.
(Vanessa also heads up the team of volunteer Day Chaplains that we have at St Katharine’s Retreat House.)
