Sabbath…what does it mean to you?
Not the word, but the action of making space and taking time out with God?
Do you have a regular sabbath but you find it hard to rest and to ignore the sprinkling of guilt for taking time out?
Or do you struggle with all the demands that bombard you on a daily basis which prevent you from having a sabbath regularly?
In our time together, we will explore what Sabbath really is, the benefits of it, and how to create this sacred space in your life on a regular basis.
During this gently guided retreat there will be reflections, various creative ways to engage with God, and the opportunity to rest and receive.
God rested, Jesus rested. Here’s a wonderful invitation for you to rest too. Come for a day, or for a few days, to be refreshed, to bathe in peace and delight in the presence of God.
“The Sabbath was made to serve us; we weren’t made to serve the Sabbath.’ The Message translation.
Come for a day, a night or longer.
The retreat will be led by Revd Vanessa Appleton – who will be heading up our ‘soon to be’ team of chaplains.
Costs:
£89 per 24hrs to include and ensuite bedroom and all meals.
£35 for day visitors to include lunch.
To book or ask any questions about the retreat – please email office@srpf.org.uk or call 01494 881037.

Since being ordained, I have served in the church and as a chaplain in the Police Force, the HM Prison Service and the National Health Service. I understand the importance, need and joy in spending time with God, which has led me to facilitate quiet days to gently guide people into the space and presence of God to receive His rest, refreshment and peace.
I have a very compassionate heart, blessed with the gift of creativity and a passion for connecting with nature which is echoed in the quiet days that I lead.
